A transactional text is a type of communication used to exchange information.
What's asking for information and giving for information?
Asking for information is the act of requesting specific details or knowledge that we need. For example: "Could you tell me the way to the post office?"
Asking for information is divided into two, basic questions and polite questions.
Giving information means providing clear and relevant details in response to a question. For example: "The post office is two blocks ahead, on the right side."
Giving information is divided into two, direct answers and uncertain answers.
Examples of asking and giving for information
At school
Student: "Excuse me, Miss."
Teacher: "Yes, what can I help you with?"
Student: "Could you tell me when the library opens?"
Teacher: "The library opens at 8 AM and closes at 4 PM."
Student: "Thank you for the information."
Teacher: "You're welcome."
